Job Overview:
The Reservation Manager reports to the General Manager and to the owner. The overall goal is “to put heads in beds”. They are to work closely with the lodging revenue team and the General Manager on sales strategies that are in line with changing industry trends, such as competitor’s rates, customer buying patterns, time of year, and holidays. In addition to the camper demographic, they should also actively seek other potential revenue streams such as corporate groups, church groups, school districts, weddings, family reunions, etc.
The role of a reservation manager is fast-paced and varied. They will work with other departments in the park and learn how their practices affect each other. They report weekly to the General Manager to demonstrate revenues and booking rates are being maintained effectively. Revenue and rates must be continually assessed by the Reservation Manager and changes made to the sales and booking strategies if needed.

Job Duties
- Actively works to maintain awareness of current industry standards within the hotel industry, and ensures those standards are communicated to the reservations team and consistently upheld.
- Possesses a sales-driven mentality and is capable of keeping and updating lodging inventory.
- Trains the reservations team to swiftly respond to online lodging bookings to ensure inventories remain accurate.
- Proficient in making data-driven decisions and implementing changes to meet customer demands.
- Demonstrates proficiency in using computers and is capable of keeping accurate records of revenue and booking levels.
- Must possess good communication skills to communicate with colleagues and the general public.
- Possesses leadership/teamwork skills and the ability to delegate work activities.
- Ensures arrivals checklist is updated daily and inconsistencies are investigated immediately.
- Manage/monitor daily bookings and keep accurate records to ensure occupancy levels are maintained.
- Sets monthly team goals, which include sales and other departmental goals.
- Monitors month-to-month analysis.
- Monitor departmental labor and resources to ensure optimization.
- Constantly monitor team performance including:
- Revenue produced
- Phone calls made
- Sales pitch over the phone according to guidelines.
- Attendance
- Required to work in the office a minimum of 5 days a week, Sunday-Saturday, and a minimum of 8-10 hours a day.
- Provide staff coaching/training as needed.
- Inform team on important departmental changes and updates that impact the customers.
- Responsible for oversight of the Welcome Center/Golf Cart Manager
- Other duties as assigned
Employee Departmental Transfer Policy
From time to time departments will have a position available that needs to be filled. Now that we have a “Job Posting” site available for current staff, it is possible that a staff member may be ready for a change and or want to learn a different skill set.
North Texas Jellystone Park and Pirates Cove will not interfere with employees transferring to another department. Here are the guidelines for an employee transferring to another department:

- Employees will be interviewed for positions for which they have applied. If the hiring manager determines they are the best candidate for the position the employee will be hired for the available position.
- The current manager will be notified of the impending transfer of their staff member by Human Resources.
- The current manager or supervisor has a maximum of 30 days to find a replacement for the transferring staff member and release that staff member to the new hiring department.
